The department has strengths in the philosophy of science, metaphysics, meta-ethics, normative ethics, bioethics, political philosophy, formal epistemology, the philosophy of language, the philosophy of mathematics, the philosophy of mind, the philosophy of biology, ancient philosophy, the philosophy of physics, and the history of analytic philosophy. Prospective students are encouraged to contact faculty members in the department to discuss potential areas of research. The following are among the dissertations currently in progress.
